Teddy Bear Pop Up Card: Valentines day, Birthday, Christmas, Baby Shower Variations

Teddy Bear Pop Up Card: Valentines day, Birthday, Christmas, Baby Shower Variations

I've been so busy lately, so it took me a while to get these popup cards finished. I kept coming up with variations for this card. Here are variations for a Valentine's day, birthday, Christmas and baby shower card. There could be many more by adding some additional clip art. You can imagine making a graduation hat, adding flowers, adding sports logos, sports equipment…the list goes on. I could have been making variations for weeks, but I figure I'd stop with these 4. I made two mechanical versions of this card: one using 2 sheets of paper and one using 3. If you like the elegant style of making the actual pop-up with one sheet, then you can use the 2 sheet version. The second sheet is the card backing. You can also use this version if you have many cards to make since it's a tad easier to assemble. The birthday and baby shower card are made with 2 sheets, shown below. The second version uses 2 sheets for the inside card. You would want to use this version if you want to use different colors for the bear and the background. This will provide more contrast in color between the bear and the background. If you want to make a brown bear, then you can have him sit on different colors other than a brown background. The Valentine's day and Christmas card are made with 3 sheets. Here is what the cards look like:

I really like this card and feel like it's one of my most versatile cards. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 so my video editing software didn't work.  It took me some time to find a new piece of software and learn how to use it.  Here are individual videos of each of the cards:

I’ve made this card, but my bear never opens as much as yours does. It looks squashed. Any ideas on how to avoid that? Should I use thicker paper?

Hi Teddy! You will want to score your folds more. Make sure that the bear folds really easily. Fold the creases back and forth until it opens very easily. The thickness of the paper will not affect what you are seeing. You may want to score your card more deeply. Hope that helps!

    Thank you. That helped.

Now that I’ve zoomed the photo of your bear, I se you have a little dotted cuts where the folds are. I’ve made similar small cuts and now it works just fine 🙂

I love you designs, you have an amazing gift. I am getting married and would love to have pop-up invitations for my wedding. Do you take order or can you tell me where I can order these.

Hi Reid, I dont sell cards. You can download the template for the card you like and make them yourself. I made 100 pop-up invitations for my wedding. You may want to get a Silhouette Cameo to help cut all of the cards.
