22 Dec Christmas Pop Up Card: Magical Snowman
Here is a Holiday or Christmas pop-up card that features a snowman (Frosty the snowman!). Like some of my other cards, this is an action pop up card. As you open the card, the boy(or girl) puts the hat on the snowman. The hat is magical and is what brings the snowman to life, just like Frosty the snowman. Inside, I have the words, “May your holidays be magical.”
It took a while for me to come up with this card. I had many different Christmas card ideas and I didn't know which one to make. Have you ever had so many ideas, that you become paralyzed and not get any progress done on any of them? I worked on a few different Christmas card concepts, but I didn't come up with anything I liked. Time was running out so I decided to make a snowman. I thought about making a slice form version, but I saw so many slice form snowmen out there, and I wanted to make something original. Since I didn't have much time to make it, I designed something simple, easy but unique. That's when I thought, I want to capture the moment that Frosty comes to life, when the hat is placed on Frosty's head. So I decided to make an animated card where the hat is put on while the card is opened. I wasn't sure I was going to make Christmas, so that's why it's a holiday card, since I probably will not be able to give these to anyone until after Christmas.
To make the snowman, I looked up images of Frosty. It turns out that there are many versions of Frosty, some consistent and some not consistent with the song. In the version I made, I gave the snowman a carrot nose since that's what most people are used to seeing, although Frosty has a “button nose.” I also gave the snowman twigs as arms, where Frosty has thick beefy snow arms.

I also designed a broom for the snowman, but I forgot to glue it on.

I already have your template, but unable to do the little details on the boy’s face. You answered: I use a Silhouette Cameo and an old KNK element. (I have no idea what a KNK element is or where you get it.) Then you said that ‘most of your designs are available in .svg and .studio cutting formats so I can cut out my cards with a cutting machine. (I haven’t a clue what an .svg is or .studio cutting formats or how to obtain either.) HELP!
